I need to make films.

High school is a bad place for that, though. You can't do anything serious with high school kids. I'd like to film conversations. I've written some already. Conversations I've had, conversations I've overheard, whatever. Just little interactions between people outside the context of a plot. There's nobody I know who could be in this kind of a movie, though. The only thing anyone's good for is obvious comedy. Which is good when I want to do obvious comedy, but it gets tricky when I want to get a little arty. Photography's easy. Your subject only needs to act for one frame. Good luck getting a sixteen or seventeen or eighteen-year-old to keep it up for several thousand.
- Listening to: Bishop Allen.
- Reading: Beowulf.
